JJ Casas picked up his mom's Pentax K1000 35mm camera, shot two rolls, and decided to buy a digital camera--a two megapixal Nikon Coolpix camera in 2003. His first real assignments were photographing teen club parties through a friend in high school. Soon afterwards, he delved into bigger events including weddings and cotillions.
While covering various events, portraiture soon gained his interest and that is now his primary focus. Whether it be implenting thought-provoking concepts with expansive lighting equipment or simply using the sun for natural light photos, creating fine portraiture has become his goal.
His attitude and approach to making images extends to his clients as well. By including his clients in the entire process--initial meeting, follow up emails and calls, openness to suggesstions and changes--every image is made by both the photographer and client which only results in satisfaction from both sides of the lens.
JJ Casas is based in Daly City serving San Francisco and the Bay Area in California.
